Social Cognition - Understanding the world around us.
Social cognition shows the importance of the environment, personal qualities, and behavior all interacting and working together. The original theory came from Albert Bandura in the 1960s. He developed this theory emphasizing that people make choices in their lives and do not simply respond to environmental influences.
CULTURE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED WHEN STUDYING SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY. PEOPLE'S ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PERSONAL FACTORS, AND BEHAVIORAL FACTORS VARY FROM CULTURE TO CULTURE CAUSING THEIR SCHEMAS TO BE DIFFERENT.
